The optical 3D inspection system Kolibri duo is designed for automatic 3D digitization of larger components.

Typical areas of application are the inspection of prototypes of cast and forged components, quality control of tools, CAD/CAE applications, reverse engineering, etc.

The system uses the principle of digital fringe projection techniques in combination with a special MultiView technique.

The assembly of two fringe projector systems allows the all around inspection of components without turning of the object and without matching of top and bottom surfaces. The object is simply positioned in a mounting ring and the inspection is started.

The result is a high quality point cloud of the 3D surface co-ordinates of the inspected component.

For further data analysis powerful software packages are available, e.g. for comparison with CAD, quality control, reverse engineering, etc.
